Weekend Experience

The Game

Your weekend can start either Friday Evening or Saturday Morning depending on people’s preferences. The first stage will be either Character Creation or Character Bonding. Where possible, we shall create your character in advanced, but if that’s not possible or you’d prefer to create characters in the group then we shall go through that together.

If character creation is all sorted before arrival then we can focus on bringing together a potential new group of adventurers.

This starting mini session is designed to break the group in and give some starting loot, a simple dungeon crawl to get to know each other before starting your proper adventure.

Over the weekend we aim to have 4 sessions (not including the character bonding), each session lasts roughly 3 hours with a break between.

There are opportunities for additional sessions if the group want or feel they are needed, but the adventures are paced out so these 4 sessions should be enough to complete your goals.

We shall be playing in an open air building, under a tin roof with a bathroom and a kitchen. Should we get heavy rain we might take a break from game play until we can hear each other. We run with between 3 – 6 players, though our preferred group size is 4 (this is to try and ensure all players get their fair focus)

The weekend is very much focused around the group, so if you’d prefer to enjoy the outdoors more, or get your moneys worth of D&D we can adapt. The key thing is this is meant to be fun, so we try not to over do it!

Meals

In the standard package we provide breakfast, lunch and dinner, the main expense of the weekend is food so we try to keep it simple but wholesome. Below is a standard menu, though depending on when you arrive affects how many meals we provide:

Breakfast – Scrambled eggs with toast, Porridge with toppings
Lunch – Assorted Sandwiches, Crisps, Salad
Dinner – Potjie & Rice, Borwors Rolls & Pap & Relish

Drinks wise Tea, Coffee & Squash is available throughout the day.

We recommend you bring your own snacks and drinks, also please let us know any dietary requirements in advance.

We do offer a self catered group package, though this can lead to sporadic game play for some or all players.

Camping

Please bring your own camping equipment (tent, mattress, sleeping bag, torches, towel, etc), there is a communal kitchen and one bathroom. There are no restrictions on tent size and you have a lot of flexibility on where you pitch it!

There is limited power available, suitable for charging phones/laptops, but not suitable for hair driers.

There will be a fire used for cooking in the evenings, though should you want to sit round and enjoy the fire we do sell fire wood (you are also welcome to bring your own).

Should you be interested in the weekend but not up for camping, we do have a few alternative options available, please see Accommodation for more information.
